I wouldn't run any other daws rewire except live (simpler) and reason (thor) and the daws themselves don't take a lot of overhead (I have a pretty decent cpu and interface) - I have researched this in depth, and In fact, simpler is the best/only real option to get this sound. The thing is that no sampler (including s1 sampler) does what the ableton Simpler is capable of (not even Kontakt which I also own). Keeping to the original thought though, if you have Rewire hooked up correctly, then you should have a multitude of control options. Good luck.Īdditional: Yeah, your 2nd post is pretty much bumping the issue, because some dedicated sampler, and time stretching IS going to be more of a CPU load (Jemisic's point), so try to run on just what you're trying to do. You'll probably want to provide a screenshot so someone who uses Live can help you further. I suspect its not much different with Ableton live, with Studio One. That's with audio and MIDI information being transferred.
#ABLETON REWIRE VST PRO#
I experience about a 10 to 15% rise in CPU, via rewire, and that's running about 6 additional Stereo instruments/tracks in Reason, and Pro Tools. There should be no differences from modulating or automating an internal VST, or through an external program. Just specify as clearly as you can what's occurring. Later, you can explore plugging in MIDI, and audio by individual channel connections For simplicity, start first by rewiring Lives main stereo out, to keep the overall path simple. You can drag the control link hand down to the track to add automation control, or you can go to the event itself, and open the MIDI parameters there, and add it to that event's control. Do you see S1's Control link now showing that parameter? If so, then S1 is reading it. Click on any knob, or setting in Live's instrument parameters. Make sure you are working with the same track, and if its audio or a MIDI track. I Rewire with mostly Reason into Studio One, and its flawless.Ĭan you select the Live parameter, via Control Link? That's the quickest way to see if the connection is being made and identified in S1.
#ABLETON REWIRE VST MOD#
More synth research maybe needed.Ĭan't think of why you're not getting the mod control.
#ABLETON REWIRE VST INSTALL#
If so I would imagine getting the synths or something very similar for one program is the more sensible way to go.įor every synth that you think might only be in one program and nowhere else, there is another out there that you can install into one program only and get a very similar result. There will always be some thing that wont go between them too well.ĭo people actually run sequences in both DAW's or do they use the synths mainly from one being played from the other. I have yet to see two programs running perfectly with one in rewire mode actually. Just get yourself a nice instrument that will do what you want to do and run it inside Studio One only! Think about it, your computer has a lot of work to do with just one program, but two? My opinion only of course but I don't think you even two DAW's to get any job done so running two at once is even less of a requirement. Why anyone would want to rewire a huge program into Studio One is totally beyond me. I think you are going it about the wrong way.
